My family enjoyed our vacation in late April in Victoria, British Columbia.
Our first destination was to the community of Oak Bay. It’s approximately 3 kilometers from Victoria’s Inner Harbour. Oak Bay is known for its quiet neighborhoods and its pathways for walking and cycling. Whether you drive or walk along Beach Drive, you’ll notice the spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean and in the distance, Mount Baker. Once you arrive at the Oak Bay Marina search for the seals that play right off the wharf.
My family was celebrating my kids 16 and 18th birthdays and reserved the Penthouse Suite at Oak Bay Beach Hotel. The suite has a spectacular view of the mineral pools and the Pacific Ocean. It has a good size kitchen with a dining table, two full baths, two bedrooms and a family room with a fireplace.
During our stay, we ordered room service from The Snug Pub. We ordered Blue Corn nachos and mixed sorbet. They delivered our late night snacks in a short amount of time by the friendly staff. Both dishes were fantastic. The Snug Pub offers breakfast and dinner in the evening. The morning we were departing from the hotel we enjoyed a well portioned French toast house-made brioche, caramelized banana, crushed pecans, and maple syrup and blueberry banana smoothies while looking at the hotel gardens and the ocean.
If you decide to visit Oak Bay, I hope you have the same experience as my family did.
