Actun Tunich Muknal Caves Tour

A must see and adventure to do; the Mayas lost and sacred underworld can still be re-explored in Belize's jungles. The caves of Actun Tunichil Muknal is one of the top ten protected caves by UNESCO.

Your journey starts with a 1 hour drive to an off road entrance then another 45 minute drive to the Tapir Mountains. A scenic walk leads to the dense rainforest of Belize. Once, there your guide briefs you of your days expectations and then after your first hike through the jungles of Belize takes through River and streams once used by Mayas to enter the sacred underworld.
Arriving, at the entrance to the caves your adventure of swimming, crawling and climbing starts into the different levels of the natives religious cathedral.
Your tour is about 3 hours in the Maya's underworld learning about the use and importance of these caves to the natives. Looking at thousands of years old artifacts and skeletal remains encrypted into the earth. After the tour you make your back to the park for lunch and then drive home.

Itinerary
Pick up from hotel; then an hour and forty five-minute drive to the park. You are then briefed of the day’s activities and getting geared up for your forty fiveintue hile through the jungle. At the entrance your starts and last for about three hours in the caves. You then make your way back with another forty-five minute hile back to the park. At the park you have lunch and then after lunch you make your other hour and forty-five-minute journey back home.
