9-Day Kenya's Wild Treasure: Samburu, Naivasha, Amboseli

From the rugged beauty of Samburu National Reserve, where the rare Samburu Special Five roam, to the serene waters of Lake Naivasha and the majestic presence of elephants against the backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro in Amboseli, this safari promises a truly unforgettable experience.

The journey from Nairobi will take you through the heart of Kenya’s captivating landscapes, transitioning from the green highlands of Nairobi to the dry, rugged terrain of northern Kenya. We will have a stopover for lunch in Nanyuki and arrive in Samburu in the afternoon, which is a perfect time for the afternoon game drive. Samburu is home to a range of unique wildlife, including the famous Samburu Special Five: Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, Beisa oryx, and gerenuk.

After your time in Samburu, you will take a scenic drive south towards Lake Naivasha. One of the most beautiful of Kenya's Rift Valley lakes, Lake Naivasha is a pretty place where you're likely to see hippos, and where zebras and giraffes roam the lake shore. Hell's Gate is unlike any other national park in Kenya. For a start, it's the only one where you're allowed to get out of your vehicle to walk and cycle. That's because the park is largely free of predators, leaving the zebras, giraffes, impalas,
buffaloes and rock hyraxes (and human visitors) to roam without fear.

You're in for a real safari treat when you visit Amboseli. It's one of Kenya's most beautiful parks, thanks to the fact that
Mt Kilimanjaro, Africa's tallest peak (5895m), dominates most views here. Amboseli is also famous for its large population of elephants with big tusks, and you have an excellent chance of seeing lions, cheetahs, hyenas, zebras, buffaloes, giraffes,wildebeests and many gazelles while you're here. With 420 bird species recorded, it's also a great place for birding.
