Exchange your Lao kip before leaving Laos

The currency in Laos is the Lao kip (code LAK). It is very hard to exchange it outside of Laos, and if by miracle you find a place willing to do so, the exchange rate will likely be very bad. Another option would be to find people headed to Laos, and exchange directly with them, but again, it would not be easy.

So make sure you change your kip before leaving Laos!

Lobuche Peak Climbing

There are two distinct summits to Lobuje Peak - Lobuje East (6,119m/20,070ft) and Lobuje West (6,145m/20,161ft). Although they are connected by a continuous ridge there is a sharp gap and a considerable distance between them. Lobuje is an attractive summit, offering a variety of existing routes and a wide scope for new lines.
