Cuba is known for its heritage cities and its beautiful beaches, however, therea re a lot of natural jewels very little explored. We invite you to take a two-day car tour through four provinces, Artemisa, Havana, Mayabeque and Matanzas to visit two of the biosphere reserves of western Cuba. We will visit Sierra del Rosario and Ciénaga de Zapata.

We invite you to take a two-day car tour through two of the biosphere reserves of western Cuba. We will visit Sierra del Rosario and Ciénaga de Zapata, where you can enjoy the nature of Cuba, the beautiful flora and fauna and places where you can perform activities such as wildlife observation, hiking, horseback riding in boats or Canopy. Guests will stay in a private house in Havana, breakfast and dinner will be offered and they can share Life experiencies with a Cuban family.

Day one visit cienaga de zapata

Our tour' ll begin in Havana and from It, we will depart the first day to the Ciénaga de Zapata to visit the largest crocodile conservation and breeding center in Cuba. It's possible to visit all the facilities where crocodiles live in conditions similar to natural ones. Other species can also be watched such as jutias, jicoteas, etc. In this center you will find a replic of the production process of charcoal that constitutes a source of income for the native área.

Then you will take a speedboat ride through the Laguna del Tesoro which is a beautiful lake surrounded by an impressive nature, to go to the Taina Village, there you can admire a Taina village, replic with magnificent life-size sculptures made by Cuban Rita Longa sculpture, remembering our aboriginal past.

In the afternoon La Cueva de los Peces can be visited. It' s an impressive natural crystal clear pool with more than 70 meters deep, It communicates with the sea through an underground tunnel. You can snorkel inside the cave and of course, colorful tropical fish around you can be watched. Surrounded by all natural beauty, seaweed, corals, virgin sand and precious stones, the fish dance an ode of beauty to the Island.

As a climax and to relax on this intense tour we will enjoy the sun and the sea at Playa Larga, at the inner end of the Bay of Pigs, this beach is one of the best on the southern Cuban coast.

We' ll return to Havana and you will stay in a comfortable double room with private bathroom in a private house . Dinner made of a typical Cuban food Will be offered and then you will have free time to enjoy some of the many nightlife attractions that Havana offers as the cannon shot Ceremony, Tropicana cabaret, Cuban Art Factory, Miramar music house, etc.

Day two visit to the Sierra del Rosario


The next day we'll have breakfast early in the morning and leave for our next destination: Sierra del Rosario. We' ll start visiting the peculiar Castle of the Clouds in Soroa, this castle is a medieval style construction located in La Loma el Fuerte and from this point you can enjoy the impressive views it offers of Sierra del Rosario.

In Soroa you can also visit the Soroa Orchid Botanical Garden, this is a National Heritage of Cuba and has 130 species of Cuban native orchids and about 700 species from other parts of the world.

Hiking enthusiasts can ascend to the Natural Viewpoint of Venus that offers a natural view of the entire Sierra del Rosario at 375 meters above sea level.

Here you will also find one of the wonders of Cuba's geography: the waterfall, the rainbow jump, which is located in the center of a tropical forest with trees are up to 35 meters high and there you can enjoy a swim in its waters medicinal miner.

After lunch at the house of a farmer in the area we will go to the Community of Las Terrazas which is a tourist complex on the banks of the San Juan river. Las Terrazas located in the center of Sierra de Rosario biosphere reserve are considered the first eco museum of Cuba, the community stands out for its peculiar architectural style the houses and other buildings are harmoniously integrated into the mountainous landscape .

Las Terrazas is for lovers of nature, quietness, the countryside, trees, birds, landscapes, the most panoramic hike and the most demanding trekking. There are other recreational options such as the Canopy tour (ZIPLINE) that will be an unforgettable adventure in which you can take a 1.6 km tour suspended from a cable over the lake and part of the community.

You can also visit the Aquatic Activities Center located on the lake at the entrance of the Community (village): you can rent paddle boats and water bikes you can take lake rides. Trout fishing is allowed, but with the return of the fish caught into the water (catch relée, or catch and release).

On the outskirts of the community on the banks of the San Juan River, there' are (bathrooms, restaurant, bar) there are also rustic cabins on stilts, with a guano roof. There are 11 cabins a few meters from the river and with the names of Cuban birds: Tocororo, Cartacuba, Arriero, Azulejo, Colibrí, Tojosa, Sinsonte, Pitirre, Tomeguín, Nightingale and Catey, next to a free space where travelers can set up tents They are rented on the spot.

In this same area you can visit and enjoy the San Juan Baths, a natural spa on the San Juan River that has natural pools of crystalline waters, some deep and with mining-medicinal properties which will be an excellent climax where we can relax before returning to Havana.
