Traveling Off Season

By theteatimeadventurer | Feb 27, 2019

Traveling off season during the later fall or winter months (not during the holiday season) can be a great way to save money. Depending on where you are looking to travel to, many hotels look to fill rooms that would otherwise be vacant and can offer deeply discounted rates. You will find reservations much easier to make than in summer. Likewise, museums and other top tourist attractions can have discounted prices and can be much emptier. Keep in mind that for every advantage, however, there is also a disadvantage. Weather can play a huge factor into closing attractions and delaying flights. This happened to me twice on my most recent trip to Germany. Because of heavy snow, I was delayed 6 hours and had to be rebooked on a flight coming home. Hours of operation at sights may be severely limited due to the time of the year. Only you know best at what you want to see, how you are able crowds, the time off you are able to get and your budget. Travel should be something everyone is able to experience. By traveling off season, hopefully you can get the most bang for your buck! Until next time, happy travels!
