Elite Hill Monastery (Cham Shan Chi)

What to expect?

This place is not a tourist spot. However, it is a very beautiful place and you can certainly breath some fresh air. The location is well situated at the outskirt of Nine Dragon (Kowloon). Elite Hill Monastery (Cham Shan Chi) is divided into two parts. One is situated at 8 Lobster Bay (Lung Ha Wan) Road and another is situated at 15 Lobster Bay (Lung Ha Wan) Road.
What makes this place well known to locals and Buddhists is the tranquility for meditation and worship. The attractions of the monastery are sculptures of lions, kirins, Four Heaven Kings, Statute of Goddess of Mercy (Guan Yum), Golden Pagoda, Huge Bell and a colorful Main Hall as well as some interesting cravings behind the main hall.

Another part of the monastery has mad dogs, the Śarīra Pagoda for the mentor of the founder of this monastery (left) and the Śarīra Pagoda for the founder (right). The pagoda is hard to see. We need to go around the main hall and we will see a staircase leading up to the pagodas behind.

How to get there?

The best option is taking KMB Bus No. 91 from Diamond Hill MTR Station.

Green Minibus are certainly good options if you want to sit on your own rather than sit with someone next to you. Green Minibus No. 103/103M/16 are available for you! Please check out Transportation Department of the local government and dig out the details!

Lobster Bay (Lung Ha Wan) Rock Craving

What to expect?

Unless you want some exercise, it is better not going to the rock craving. It is hard to reach because of lacking footpaths, long distance (more than 30 minutes) as well as its long and winding road. The best time to avoid walking on this main road or the mountain is summertime. There is a high chance for catching heat strike possibly leading your way to heaven. Once you get to the entrance of the rock craving, there is a direction sign leading you up to the coastline where the rock craving is situated.
