Check the possible activities that the place offers. There might be some activities that do not require you to pull out your wallet. For example, sightseeing, swimming, etc. Also, you may want to check some museums that are open to the public and pay nothing. This way you can save money while travelling. 3. Carry Snacks and Water

Do not forget to bring a water bottle with you. Make sure to empty the bottle before boarding the plane. When you arrive at the destination, find a way to refill it.Kids will need snacks while you are exploring, and it drives me crazy to spend money on silly snacks. Throw some granola bars in your bag and pull them out when the kids need fuel. Don’t even get me started on how much I hate spending money on bottled water when I can buy an entire case for the same amount. Always carry your own water. However, splurge when it comes to treats that you can only find in that location.

Everyone loves eating. Bring some snacks too with you instead of buying them. More importantly, if you have kids, make sure to have some snacks in your bag. Kids love eating more than adults do. It is best to buy some snacks outside than grabbing from the hotel minibar. Always remember that hotels love extra charges. Hotels are a lot more expensive than the mini store outside.

4. Use Miles and Rewards Program

After learning how to find cheap flights, there is still more to learn from airlines. Make sure to register and apply to the hotel and airline rewards programs. You can use to purchase FREE flights and FREE rooms. Not only those but also some airlines and hotels are affiliated with shops. To cut in short, you can use your rewards cards to purchase clothes, bags, and etc.

5. Stick on The Budget

Before travelling, you should know your budget. So, to save money while travelling, follow the calculate budget. If there is no need to buy plenty of stuff, then better not to.
Know when to save and when to splurge. Look for ways to save money but also treat yourself during the trip. Having a budget is a wonderful way to keep yourself on track. But, spend things only on things that matter.

6. Walk and Enjoy the View

Don’t be so lazy. If you are going to a walking distance destinations, why rent a car? If you really want to save money while travelling, walk instead of getting a grab or cab. Unless you are carrying a baby and some heavy stuff with you.

7. Stay Outside the City Center

Hotel location is very expensive. You can stay outside the city center to save money while travelling. Some hotels outside the city center have FREE shuttle bus for their guests going to the center. Take advantage of it.

8. Share with Friends

Going to the same place or destination with your friends? Why bring your car if you can ask a ride from them. Leave your car at home and enjoy the ride with your friend’s car.

9. Avoid Eating Near the Areas of Tourist Spots

“It is for tourists”. Have you heard that phrase before? Me? I did and I always say it. Always remember that we are travellers and not tourists. To save money while travelling, pick a restaurant not inside or near a tourist spot. Usually, those restaurants are very expensive.

10. Shops at Farmer’s Markets and Local Stores

Let us be practical. Why buy $500 worth of shirt if you can buy it for $100 with the same quality, right? Let us not be ambitious here. We are trying to save money while travelling.
