Gorilla In Bwindi Forest Uganda

Gorilla In Bwindi Forest Uganda

Uganda safari can perfectly be visited during all seasons and throughout the Year while the weather is perfect all year around. Please keep in mind though that July and August are peak season for tracking the mountain gorillas and therefore Gorilla permits are still difficult to obtain so we recommend that you use a ground travel agency to obtain one or more Gorilla permits.

It is also much Recommended to book your Gorilla permits well in advance about 3-4 months before your arrival. The number of people allowed to go gorilla trekking in Uganda or Rwanda is restricted to 8 persons per each family of habituated gorillas on each particular day. This is done to ensure least behavioral disturbance to the mountain gorillas as well as reduce the risk of them catching contagious human illnesses considering them being human closest relatives.

The Dry season months from mid June till September and then December till start of march are the dry seasons which are perfect months to visit for wildlife viewing as the grass is short and animals are easier to find while April, may, October and November. Gorilla trekking is also rewarding in the dry season as the terrain is manageable for both cars and trekking experience.
