Travel hacks for packing with ease

By KCroisant | Aug 2, 2019

When it comes to traveling, one of the worst parts about it is the packing. Who knew that everyone in your family would need 15 different outfits for a 4-day vacation? Seriously, it seems that the preparation of items never seems to end! If you feel that you’re going around and around and need a few packing tips and hacks to help, you’re not alone.
Just by utilizing some of these travel hacks for packing, you can instantly turn your upcoming vacation into an adventure that you’re looking forward to!
Finding ways to pack efficiently and effectively for your trip doesn’t have to be hard. These super simple travel hacks and tips can help!

HOW CAN I SAVE SPACE WHEN PACKING WITH EASE?

The main thing to keep in mind is that you need to use every bit of space that you can! Inside shoes and hats are great spaces that people often leave empty, and doing so leaves a ton of wasted space. Instead, stick your deodorant or a small bag that contains your jewelry inside your shoes or hat. Anything that you can fit will work!
First and foremost, what about your toiletries? Why not invest in a TSA approved travel kit, instead of packing all your full-size bottles? That’s what I do whether or not I pack it or carry it on, my travel kit is ready to go.

LET EVERYONE IN THE FAMILY PACK THEIR BAG

By letting your kids, even your husband pack their own bags, will save you so much time and energy. Plus, they’ll have no one else to blame when they realize that they have forgotten something. Let them take charge for a trip and pack their bags to see how much work it is!

HAVE EVERYONE MAKE A LIST OF THEIR TRAVEL PACKING ESSENTIALS

Even your littles. Have a meeting after dinner and give everyone a sheet of paper and a pen or pencil and let them write out what they need to pack.

ALWAYS PUT YOUR SHOES IN THE BOTTOM OF YOUR SUITCASE OR BAG

People never think about where they’re packing their shoes, but they should! Shoes are dirty, and those soles have been worn everywhere. Instead of placing them on top of your clean clothes in your suitcase, put all shoes in a bag, then pack them first so that they are on the bottom. Those dirty soles can’t touch anything if they are in a bag and everything else stacked on top!

ALWAYS HAVE A SMALLER BAG PACKED AND READY WITH YOU IN THE CAR

Life happens. And you never know what it’s going to bring. When something out of the ordinary does occur, who has time to pull over, run to the trunk, and start digging around in all the suitcases looking for what they need? Cut out those steps and instead, pack a small bag and have it in the front of the car with you. Put in a change of clothes, a first aid kit, some batteries and anything else that you think you might need. You’ll find that this simple step will save you so much time, energy, and frustration.

THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU NEED AND CUT IT IN HALF

We always think we need more than we do. I don’t know how many times I’ve packed for a trip and don’t wear half of what I took with me.
See how simple these travel hacks are? Instead of getting stressed out about the thought of packing and planning, try implementing these travel tips instead. These little changes can go a long way in making your trip or vacation a lot more relaxed and fun!
